Intel today is trading at $51.88, it went down with $2.24 from $54.12.
The main reason it is going down today is that it is facing competition in the laptop market from its main rival Advanced Micro Devices and Microsoft which announced plans for a broader subscription bundle aimed at consumers. More so, the Trump administration agreed on new measures to restrict the global supply of chips to China's Huawei Technologies. The US is of the view that China is diverting US technology into military use.
This is, therefore, affecting Intel shares negatively because the new rules include withdrawing licenses and could drive Chinese consumers into the arms of foreign rivals, thereby affecting the supply and demand chain of Intel.
