05.10.2022 What Happened in Borsa Istanbul Today?

The 100 stocks (BIST 100), the highest 100 stocks in terms of market and trading volume traded in Borsa Istanbul, which made a fast start to the new week, were maintaining its positive course with an appreciation of more than 2% in the last hours. It declined to 3,400 points during the day.

In terms of sectors, the chemical, petroleum and plastics index made a breakthrough today with a rise of nearly 6%. Factoring diverged negatively from the stock market with a partial depreciation of nearly 1%. Telecommunications and real estate investments also fell by 0.5%, taking the first places of the sectors that were silent today. As for banks, they moved in parallel with the BIST 100 with a value increase of more than 2%.

(05.10.2022) Featured shares of the day:

Aksa Acrylic (AKSA), SASA (SASA) and Bağfaş (BAGFS) were at the top with their ceiling prices. Akfen REIT (AKFGY), Otokar (OTKAR) and İş Finansal Kiralama A.Ş. (ISFIN) were the most declining stocks in the BIST 100, falling by 2%. Şeker Finansal Kiralama A.Ş. (SEKFK), Dap Gayrimenkul (DAPGM), Suwen Tekstil (SUWEN), Pamel Yenilenebilir (PAMEL) and Zorlu Enerji (ZOREN) were among the other stocks trading close to the ceiling price. Towards the close, Ersan Alişveriş (KIMMR), Ekiz Kimya (EKIZ) and Cosmos Yatırım (COSMO) shares experienced major declines. Ulusal Faktöring (ULUFA), which started Wednesday at the floor price, broke the floor series for the second time since September 23 by seeing demand from the lows in intraday transactions.

Foreign markets:

US stock markets started the day on a positive note. Nasdaq gained nearly 3% in the first hour of the day, while Dow Jones and S&P 500 continued to trade up around 2.5%.
