The results of the US jobless claims were horrifying to say the least as a record of 16.6 million people claimed unemployment. The number of deaths due to coronavirus rose to an alarming 23,600 during the weekend, making it the country with the highest number of deaths surpassing Italy, and a total of 581,000 infections. The UK has reported about 1.4 million new benefit claims for welfare payments and this includes the jobless claims. US President Trump tweeted that, “A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!” as he referred to the restarting the economy and opening up the states to business and travel.
