This is mainly because Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) announced the launch of three new second-generation EPYC processors; the 7F32 (8 cores), 7F52 (16 cores) and F72 (24 cores). The high-frequency chips are designed for enterprise workloads and this is a competition to Intel which has historically dominated the data center market.
