United States increased to $ 170.5 billion in the second quarter of 2020 from $ 111.5 billion in the previous quarter. According to the median estimates of economists surveyed by
Bloomberg, the current account deficit in the second quarter was expected to be announced at 160.0 billion dollars.
The current account deficit announced in the previous quarter was adjusted from $ 104.2 billion to $ 111.5 billion.
Expectations of 27 economists who participated in the Bloomberg survey were between $ 135 billion and $ 178 billion.
The goods and services deficit increased from 126.5 billion dollars to 164.9 billion dollars.
While the deficit arising from goods increased from $ 191.7 billion to $ 219.3 billion, the current surplus from services decreased from $ 65.3 billion to $ 54.4 billion.
