Github which is owned by MSFT released a new application on iOS and Android which helps teams stay in touch, merge codes and prioritize issues from their mobile phones. This application helps to organize tasks, review and merge pull requests and give feedback to critical issues since many companies have asked their employees to work from home. US President Trump invoked a Defense Production Act (DPA) which is an act that allows the administration to force American private production industries to manufacture medical supplies that are in short supply to combat the spread of the coronavirus. President Trump tweeted, “I only signed the Defense Production Act to combat the Chinese Virus should we need to invoke it in a worst-case scenario in the future. Hopefully, there will be no need, but we are all in this TOGETHER!” Hospitals and health workers have said they are quickly running out of personal protective equipment like masks, gowns, gloves and there is a lack of ventilators and breathing machines. The measures to combat the coronavirus have had a huge effect on the USD as it has been hitting multi-month highs, however, it has had a very little market reaction as the stock markets continue to suffer a downward momentum due to the coronavirus pandemic.
