2.2 Trillion Covid-19 Package Approved in the USA
2.2 trillion
Covid-19 package has been approved in the USA. But uncertainties still remain.
The US House of Representatives approved the $ 2.2 trillion economic stimulus package for the economic effects of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic prepared by Democratic members.
The long-awaited stimulus package was passed by 214 votes to 207, after days of negotiations between the White House and Democrats.
This package will first be presented to the Senate, if it passes it will be submitted to the approval of
US President Donald Trump.
The $ 2.2 trillion stimulus package prepared by the Democrats includes the reinstatement of the $ 600 weekly unemployment benefit and extension until the end of the year.
If the package in question becomes law, it is aimed to pay $ 1,200 to the citizens as in the previous package.
In addition, providing $ 436 billion a year to state and local governments, granting a second round of Salary Protection Program loans for businesses most affected by the epidemic, allocating $ 25 billion for airline companies, and providing a $ 75 billion budget for the Covid-19 test. The aim is to transfer $ 225 billion to education and to implement measures such as rent subsidies.
On the other hand, uncertainties persist, with the notion that the stimulus package will not pass through the Republican-majority Senate.
