The Dow closed last week on a strong note after generating 2.2%. However, over the weekend, especially Sunday evening the Index was performing poorly as investors supposedly have been paying attention to the Covid-19 development around the World. So far a few small economies are reopening some sections and easing up on the Lockdowns, for example, the state of Florida has already opened some of their beaches back to the public. Investors have also been carefully following the progress of the government to releasing additional funds for small businesses and workers hurt by the Covid-19 crisis. The Index lost almost 200 points in pre-market trading on Sunday evening.
The covid-19 has been affecting world economies and in Dubai, the 24-hour curfew has been extended for a whole week. If economies that directly affect the US economy are hit hard then the effect will be felt in the US and the Dow will most likely lose further.
The Index closed on Friday at $24,242.49 (+704.81)
