GBP/USD is trading at $1.2456. The USD was trading higher in Asia as investors prepare for a tough quarter ahead. Sean Callow, Westpac FX analyst said, “We’re three weeks into a quarter that globally looks as though it’s going to be the worst in many decades. For us, while the momentum may be with risk appetite for a little bit longer, we think it is very fragile and has to pull back very soon.” The USD Index went up by 0.14%. Britain's Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove said, “The facts and the advice are clear at the moment that we should not be thinking of lifting these restrictions yet.” The senior minister made it clear that Britain is not considering lifting the lockdown as the death toll has risen to 16,060. UK education secretary, Gavin Williamson said there are no plans to open schools over the summer.
