3 Cathie Wood Stocks That Can Deliver Bigger Profits Than The Market
Cathie Wood continues to challenge conventional wisdom. She believes the Federal Reserve has tightened too aggressively and will have to reverse course sooner than expected.
She also thinks innovation leaders will be the first stocks to emerge from this downturn. If he's right, Roku (NASDAQ: ROKU), Zoom Video Communications (NASDAQ: ZM) and Block (NYSE: SQ) stand out as the top three stocks in the Ark Innovation ETF.
Television is becoming a streaming platform and Roku has placed itself at the center of this trend. While it appears to aggregate all streaming channels onto a single platform, from an investor perspective, Roku's strength is advertising. Because its site appeals most to advertisers, Roku offers program providers an outlet to generate revenue as they transition to streaming TV.
Zoom
Cathie Wood has a price target of $1,500 per share for Zoom by 2026. While this is an aggressive target, according to Datanyze, Zoom has undoubtedly become the platform of choice as it continues to hold a 74% market share in the online meeting space.
And while that dominance makes it a significant Cathie Wood investment, it could be the expanding ecosystem that completes the deal. In addition to Zoom Meetings, offerings like Zoom Phone, Zoom Contact Center, Zoom Webinars and others could increasingly come together to form a formidable communications ecosystem.
Block
Jack Dorsey has received a lot of negative backlash for taking Block (formerly Square) in a heavily Bitcoin-focused direction. One supporter, however, is Cathie Wood, an early backer of the cryptocurrency. Now, with Block aiming for a full-fledged Bitcoin ecosystem, Block could soar much higher if circumstances prove Dorsey and Wood right.
Moreover, Block's Square ecosystem continues to gain popularity as a financial platform for small and medium-sized businesses in the developed world. This is especially true in the US, where it can serve as both a fintech company and traditional bank. In addition, Cash App has emerged as a popular alternative to PayPal's Venmo social payment platform, reaching more than 80 million users.
