3 Stocks to Watch Next Week
3 stocks to watch next week have been determined. Those shares were shares of Coinbase, Disney and Airbnb.
After some of the largest US companies posted strong quarterly results in the past few weeks, investors' focus will now be on macroeconomic fundamentals.
The results of the companies, which we will examine below, can provide a glimpse of what companies are predicting for the coming months, especially as the Delta variant threatens some regions.
1. Coinbase Global
The largest US crypto exchange Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) will announce its second quarter results after the market close on Tuesday, August 10. Analysts had averaged $2.71 earnings per share, with $1.73 billion in revenue.
Coinbase stock closed Friday at $258.26, significantly below its high of $429.54 this year. The continued volatility in the market, China's operations in fintech and other technology companies, and the possibility of regulation moves towards digital currencies in the West, according to some analysts, could hurt the company's future revenues.
2. The Walt Disney Company
Disney (NYSE:DIS) will announce its fiscal 2021 third-quarter results after market close on Thursday, August 12. Analysts expect the company to report a profit of $0.54 per share, with revenue of $16.76 billion.
Investors will also watch for subscriber growth in the company's Disney+ streaming service, which is benefiting from the stay-at-home period, as the economy reopens due to rising Delta variant cases and Disney's amusement parks are slowly returning to their full capacity.
The stock closed Friday at $177.13, close to where it started the year.
3. Airbnb
Home rental platform Airbnb (NASDAQ:ABNB) will also announce its second-quarter results on Thursday after the market close. Analysts averaged a loss of $0.36 per share with revenue of $1.26 billion.
The results the company will announce may reveal that demand for the company's core service is gradually returning as the economy begins to reopen in the spring, as people begin to travel more.
With the risks posed by the rapid spread of the Delta variant, Airbnb stock has made a modest gain this year, closing Friday at $149.99.
