3 Stocks to Watch Next Week
3 stocks to watch next week have been determined. Those shares were shares of FedEx, Adobe and Pfizer. Here are the details..
While the
Fed's press conference is probably the most important thing investors will focus on over the next week, there are also some key quarterly report releases that shouldn't be overlooked.
1. FedEx
FedEx (NYSE:FDX), the world's largest shipping company, will release its fiscal 2022 second-quarter results on Thursday, December 16, after the market close. Analysts' average expectations were $4.27 per share, with $22.41 billion in revenue.
FedEx cut its annual profit forecast after analysts said it fell short of quarterly profit forecasts due to rising costs and slower shipment growth and said a tight job market was a major negative factor. FedEx shares have lost around 16% in the past six months, closing Friday at $246.28.
2. Adobe Systems
Adobe Systems (NASDAQ:ADBE) will also release fourth-quarter results on Thursday, but before the market open. The maker of the Photoshop software is expected to post a profit of $3.2 per share on revenue of $4.1 billion.
Competing with Salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM) in the marketing and e-commerce technology segment, Adobe aims to accelerate growth by increasing its offerings while strengthening its core creative software activities. Adobe shares, which recorded a strong rally this year and gained approximately 30% in value, closed Friday at $654.45.
3. Pfizer
According to results obtained in laboratory experiments in South Africa and reported by Bloomberg, Pfizer's (NYSE:PFE) two-dose vaccine has only 22.5% efficacy against symptoms in the Omicron variant, but is able to prevent the virus from causing a serious illness. Pfizer said last week that a third dose of its vaccine may be needed to help increase resistance to the Omicron variant.
The announcement pushed the company's stake up, showing that the world will need larger quantities of the vaccine Pfizer has co-developed with German BioNTech SE (NASDAQ:BNTX). Since the bottom of March 2020, the drugmaker's stock has nearly doubled in value. Shares, which gained around 16% in the last quarter, closed Friday at $ 52.78.
