Airbus is slowing down the planned increase in production of A320 aircraft
The reason is the worsening of the corona crisis.
The European group Airbus is slowing down the planned increase in the production of its medium-range aircraft. The reason is the worsening of the corona crisis.
The European establishment said, from the third quarter, Airbus wants to increase production of A320 aircraft from the current 40 to 43 aircraft per month. In the fourth quarter, production should then increase to 45 machines per month.
Airbus management originally planned to expand the production of
A320 aircraft to 47 units per month from July.
In the case of the smaller A220 series aircraft,
Airbus continues to anticipate an increase in production to five units per month from four since the end of the first quarter. In the case of the large A350 and A330 aircraft, the group will continue its limited production of five and two pieces per month, respectively. This means that a possible increase in the production of A350 aircraft is postponed to a later date.
Airbus' management expects the market for commercial aircraft to return to pre-corona crisis levels between 2023 and 2025.
