Alphabet's revenues were driven by digital advertising
Google's advertising revenue grew 22 percent year over year.
Google's digital advertising business is regaining the momentum it lost at the beginning of the pandemic. Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc., reported a profit of $ 15.2 billion in revenue from $ 56.9 billion in October-December, easily surpassing analysts' forecasts.
According to the survey, Alphabet's sales rose by 23 per cent on an annual basis in the quarter. That is better growth than last year's Q4, which came in at 17 percent, which indicates that Google's advertisement market is recovering well after a significant downturn in Q2 last year.
Google's revenue from advertising rose 22 percent to $ 46.2 billion in the fourth quarter from the same period a year ago.
"It was a great end to a challenging year," said Ruth Porat, CFO of
Alphabet.
However, advertising in these sectors is now recovering due to assumptions that people plan to travel again later this year. "We feel really good about the level of activity" among advertisers, the CFO added.
