US-based e-commerce giant
Amazon has announced that it will open its first physical clothing store. In the store, where there will be no employees who follow the customers and give advice, all kinds of support for shopping will be given by the artificial intelligence application.
The first 'Amazon Style' store will be opened in Los Angeles, USA, will occupy less than 3,000 square meters and will be smaller than traditional clothing stores. It will offer a number of benefits, according to a promotional video Amazon shared on Twitter.
Customers going to the store will be accompanied by artificial intelligence like Amazon Go. Customers will scan the QR code of any product they like with Amazon's mobile app, review the color and size options and choose what they desire. Most of the garments will be kept at the back of the store and only one sample of each garment will be displayed on the sales floor.
The touchscreen, which will also act as a virtual fashion consultant, will present products that can accompany selected garments and keep track of each customer's scans in the Amazon Shopping app to personalize recommendations.
Amazon's Managing Director, Simoina Vasen, while giving information about the 'Amazon Style' store concept, stated that they 'entered the physical retail business because they thought they could significantly improve the customer experience'.
Amazon said, “We became obsessed with designing a shopping experience focused on helping customers find great looks, and that led us to create Amazon Style. Inspiring discovery and the best of shopping on amazon.com with the advantage of tapping and trying on items for a perfect fit. We're very excited to offer a merging shopping experience."
Amazon announced that it will offer hundreds of well-known brands in its new store, but did not reveal which ones.
