AMAZON Launches a Discount Recipe Program For PRIME Members!
With Its New Program, Amazon aims to dominate the Pharmaceutical Market as well.
One day after Walmart
WMT (NYSE) $139.71
-0.12(-0.09%) announced that it also offers discounted prescriptions to Walmart+ members, Amazon
AMZN (NasdaqGS) $3,281.60
+17.49(+0.54%) announced that it has launched it for Prime loyalty program members.
The Company aims to save its members by taking a large share of $360 billion prescription drug market.
Like the Walmart program, Amazon's new project is targeting patients who take common drugs used to treat high blood pressure and diabetes. The service opens, where users will receive a six-month supply by paying $1 per month.
With its New Program, Amazon aims to dominate the Pharmaceutical Market as well.
Since the six-month period is often a longer period than insurance companies will pay, consumers will be able to benefit from the savings they make by enrolling in the health prescription program.
Prime Members Will Be Exempted From Shipping Fees!
The newly released project is just an extension of the Amazon Pharmaceutical benefits announced last month.
It has been observed that Prime members save up to 80 % on some drugs and up to 40 % on some branded drugs through Amazon Pharmacy.
In contrast, Walmart launched Walmart+ RX, which also offers significant discounts on commonly used drugs. In response to the program that Amazon Prime launched to challenge, Walmart+ members were observed to be able to save up to 85 % on some common drugs for free and others.
