Amazon wants to hire 5,000 new employees in Germany

The Amazon technology group wants to hire 5,000 new employees in Germany, which will increase their total number by a fifth from 23,000 to 28,000 employees. It is mainly looking for employees of delivery centers, marketing, finance department, as well as research and development. According to the DPA agency, Amazon did not state how many people it is looking for for the given departments. The group has four research and development centres in Germany: Aachen, Berlin, Dresden, and Tübingen. Last year, Amazon added a six-figure number of new hires worldwide; by the end of December, the firm had almost 1.3 million people worldwide. The fast growth is reflected in German industry statistics as well. According to the parent company's annual report, Amazon generated nearly 29.6 billion US dollars in revenue in Germany in 2020, a leap of more than 30 percent from the 22.2 billion dollars in 2019. For a long time, Amazon has not released any sales figures for Germany.
