American Restaurants Could Close Their Businesses Due To A Pandemic
Tens of thousands of American restaurants could close their businesses in the next three weeks due to a pandemic.
This was stated by the American National Association of Restaurants, which stated that 110,000 restaurants have disappeared in the country this year, which is approximately 17 percent of all public catering establishments in the
USA.
The
CNN portal informs about it.
A survey of a sample of 6,000 restaurant operators published by the association showed that 87 percent of U.S. restaurants reported a decline in sales of 36 percent on average, and 83 percent expected revenue to be "even worse" in the next three months.
"The restaurant industry simply can't wait any longer for help," said Sean Kennedy, vice president of the restaurant association.
Restrictions on restaurant capacity in some US states and other measures, such as curfews, have devastated the industry and several restaurant networks have declared bankruptcy this year.
