According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (
TÜİK),
inflation in the second 6-month period of 2021, which determines the
inflation difference in the increase in civil servants and pensions, was 25.47 percent.
Civil servants will receive a 27.47 percent raise in January as a result of this figure.
It was envisaged that civil servants would receive an
inflation difference of over 3 percent and a 5 percent increase in collective bargaining for the first 6 months of 2022.
Welfare is also on the agenda
On top of this hike, it is expected that the welfare share demanded by civil servant confederations due to the fluctuation in the economy in 2021 will also be on the agenda.
This calculation will also be valid for civil servant retirees under the same contract.
The salaries of approximately 8.5 million retirees and beneficiaries will be determined by the
inflation figure for the second half of this year. Salaries of workers and retirees from Bağ-Kur will increase at the rate of 6-month
inflation.
It is expected to be on the agenda at the cabinet meeting
In addition, an additional protocol for civil servant salaries will be on the agenda at the cabinet meeting to be held today. It is stated that the cabinet will also discuss the increase in pensions.
