Apartment for 3 BTC. For the first time, an apartment in Portugal was purchased directly in Bitcoin (BTC) without FIAT redeeming.
According to the report of the Portuguese local newspaper Idealista, for the first time in the country, a real estate was purchased directly with Bitcoin, although it required some additional steps.
The real estate was sold for 3 Bitcoins, approximately 108 thousand dollars.
Until last month, buying real estate with crypto required buyers to first convert their holdings to euros. But the country's notary law has set clear rules on how to create title deeds for real estate sales made directly in crypto.
Zome, the real estate company participating in the sale, said in a statement regarding the BTC sale, “This deed represents a historical milestone, it represents the transfer of a digital asset to a physical asset without conversion into euros.”
