Apple Is Struggling With New Lawsuits
Apple is struggling with new lawsuits. A new lawsuit was launched against the technology giant Apple in London.
The subject of the lawsuit was about 20 million users overpaying for apps purchased from the
Apple Store. Plaintiffs made a statement on the subject and stated that Apple's 30 percent fee was "excessive". In the lawsuit filed in London, the US company was requested to compensate the British iPhone and iPad users for years by paying excessive fees.
It is said that Apple is likely to pay £ 1.5 billion ($ 2.1 billion) in compensation.
Rachael Kent, a professor at Kings College in London, said that
Apple was abusing its dominance in the online store, which also negatively impacted its UK customers.
Prior to this lawsuit, Apple faced a monopoly lawsuit filed by gaming giant Epic Games.
Apple announced at the beginning of 2021 that it reduced the commission rate received from developers who provide software and services in the App Store from 30 percent to 15 percent.
