Asian Stock Exchange Crashed
On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the decline exceeded 5 percent. The loss in Australia was 6.5 percent. Stock Exchange Istanbul BIST 100 index also started the day with a 2.79 percent drop.
The troubled period continues in 2020 markets. The sharp fall in '
oil' following the
coronavirus hit Asian stock markets.
Global markets were in a mood of panic as the price of oil fell 30 percent amid a dispute between oil-producing countries.
The Nikkei 225 index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 5.4 percent near the close. On the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the combined Index fell 2.4 percent, while the loss on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange was 3.6 percent. In India, the Mumbai Sensex Index fell 4.4 percent.
CHINA'S EXPORTS FALL 17 PERCENT
That adds to the uncertainty already caused by the
Coronavirus outbreak.
January-February exports to China at the weekend in addition to the previous year fell by 17 percent announced. This led to heightened concerns about the Coronavirus outbreak, supporting the decline in stock markets.
