Automobile Export Figures Declined in August
According to the analysis made by Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB), August exports decreased by 6 percent to 2 billion 269 million dollars. In the January-August period, automotive industry exports increased by 4.3 percent to 19.6 billion dollars, while average monthly exports in the first eight months were announced as 2.45 billion dollars.
Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters Association OIB Chairman Baran Çelik made the following statements about the published report:
"Despite the decline last month, our exports were realized above the August average. We recorded a double-digit increase in the Bus-Minibus-Midibus product group along with the Supply industry, which realized the highest exports. Our exports to Spain, the USA and Poland also increased by double digits.''
Last August, the Supply Industry, which constitutes the largest product group, recorded exports of 1 billion 67 million dollars with an increase of 12 percent, while Passenger Cars exported 628 million dollars with a decrease of 4 percent, Motor Vehicles for Carrying Goods exported 297 million dollars with a decrease of 50 percent and the Bus-Minibus-Midibus product group exported 133 million dollars with an increase of 13 percent.
While there was a 16 percent increase in exports to Germany, the country with the highest exports in the Supply Industry, exports increased by 23 percent to the USA, 16 percent to Russia, 23 percent to France, 48 percent to Spain, 17 percent to Poland, 33 percent to Morocco and 27 percent to Romania.
Among the important markets in passenger cars, exports increased by 48 percent to Spain, 23 percent to Italy, 60 percent to Poland, 63 percent to Israel, 186 percent to Morocco, while exports decreased by 27 percent to the United Kingdom, 38 percent to Germany, 30 percent to Slovenia and 79 percent to the USA.
In Motor Vehicles for the Carriage of Goods, exports decreased by 49 percent to the United Kingdom, 80 percent to Slovenia, 64 percent to Italy, 47 percent to France, 47 percent to Belgium, 67 percent to Belgium, 339 percent to the USA and 465 percent to Australia.
