Automotive Sales Remained Below The 10-Year Average
Automotive Distributors Association (ODD) shared the automobile and light commercial vehicle sales data for May.
According to the May data of the Automotive Distributors Association (
ODD), automotive sales remained below the 10-year average in Turkey. Automobile and light commercial vehicle sales increased by 69.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 54 thousand 374. Thus, after April, the market remained below the 10-year average in May.
In May 2021, the automobile and light commercial vehicle market increased by 69.8 percent compared to May of last year, and recorded as 54 thousand 734 units.
In May this year,
automobile sales increased by 72.1% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 43 thousand 138 units, while the light commercial vehicle market increased by 1.9 percent to 11 thousand 596 units.
The automobile and light commercial vehicle market decreased by 20.7 percent compared to the 10-year average sales in May. The automobile market experienced a decrease of 18.2 percent compared to the average sales in May for 10 years. The light commercial vehicle market, on the other hand, decreased by 28.6 percent compared to the 10-year May average sales.
72 Percent Annual Increase in January-May Period
The Turkish automobile and light commercial vehicle total market increased by 72 percent in the January-May period of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020 and was recorded as 314 thousand 882 units.
