Axie Infinity Ecosystem Has Been Hacked
The Axie Infinity ecosystem has been hacked. Cryptocurrency worth $600 million was stolen from the Ronin platform.
The Ronin cryptocurrency bridge platform, owned by the team that developed the
Axie Infinity game, was hacked. There is a loss of around 600 million dollars. Sky Mavis had developed a solution to make huge transfers of
Axie Infinity users free. The Ronin bridge platform was created with the support of the Axie DAO community.
In addition, the developer, who briefly whitelisted the Sky Mavis account for the approval of transfers on the Ronin platform, later canceled it. However, hackers managed to gain access to this whitelist. Captured 4 confirmation points and another confirmation point belonging to Sky Mavis. This hack, which took place on March 23, was noticed by an investor trying to withdraw large amount of ETH.
It was understood that the hackers stole 173 600 ETH and 25.5 million USDC cryptocurrencies in total from the bridge platform. All operations on the Ronin and Katana platforms have been suspended. Sky Mavis already cooperates with security forces and exchanges. Transaction logs have been submitted to the necessary authorities and are being followed. Sky Mavis announced that investors will not suffer any losses.
