A Bitcoin move has been made by Spain-based bank BBVA, which also has a partnership with Garanti Bank in Turkey. The bank announced that it has opened the
Bitcoin “trade” option to its private customers in Switzerland.
In the statement made by
BBVA, it was stated that besides Bitcoin trade, custody service will be provided. BBVA made the following statements:
“After 6 months of trials with a dedicated client group, BBVA Switzerland will begin offering its cryptocurrency services to all private banking customers. This new service will only cover private banking customers in Switzerland.
BBVA aims to expand this service to other cryptocurrencies in the future. Despite the recent volatility, BBVA Switzerland has determined that its customers show great interest in crypto or digital assets for portfolio diversification, thus both testing bank services and strengthening their security."
On the other hand, BBVA also said that the new service system is fully integrated with the bank's mobile application.
