Biden Is Trying To Speed Up The Stimulus Package
Biden is trying to speed up the stimulus package. US President Biden is also getting the support of liberals.
US President Joe Biden and White House officials also have the backing of Liberal Democrats to reach an agreement with Republicans who want to reduce the size of the $ 1.9 trillion stimulus package.
Last week, US President Biden met with the republican senator, who proposed one-third of the size of the outbreak
stimulus package. While some Democrats are lobbying to prevent Biden from changing his plan, White House Spokesperson Jen Psaki stated that the package will be approved in the Senate only with the approval of a simple majority. Psaki said, “The most likely possibility at this point is that there will be a compromise process.”
Talks with 10 republicans in the Senate are said to be reminiscent of President Obama's 2009 economic stimulus package talks, with Biden serving as Vice President. During the period in question, the size of the package was increased to $ 1 trillion, with the Republicans demanding more tax cuts. More than 200 government officials, including Valerie Jarrett and John Podesta, wrote to Congress on Friday that they would not allow this to happen again.
“The package came to the Senate. Obama dropped the package by over $ 200 billion. This cut caused a weak recovery,” said a member of the South Carolina State Congress in the interview last week.
