Biggest DeFi Attack To Date
The biggest DeFi attack to date has occurred. The attacker who hacked Poly Network stole about 600 million dollars in cryptocurrencies.
Poly Network, created by Chinese blockchain project Neo and running on
Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum and Polygon blockchains, has been hacked. After today's attack, 3 chains in a row were also affected.
Addresses Where Cryptocurrencies Were Transferred Have Been Identified
The Poly Network team identified 3 addresses to which the stolen funds were sent and told miners and cryptocurrency exchanges to blacklist the tokens from these addresses. The team noted:
“We regret to announce that PolyNetwork on Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum and Polygon has been hacked.
Assets have been sent to the following addresses:
ETH: 0xC8a65Fadf0e0dDAf421F28FEAb69Bf6E2E589963
BSC: 0x0D6e286A7cfD25E0c01fEe9756765D8033B32C71
Polygon: 0x5dc3603C9D42Ff184153a8a9094a73d461663214
We warn miners and cryptocurrency exchanges on affected blockchains to blacklist tokens from these addresses.
We would like to state that we will take legal steps in this regard. We also warn hackers to return assets."
It was stated that the attackers stole $ 600 million in cryptocurrencies, which is the largest fund ever stolen from a DeFi platform.
Binance CEO: We Will Do The Most We Can
Changpeng Zhao, CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, said:
"We are aware of the attack on Poly Network. As no one controls the BSC (or ETH), we are evaluating the matter with our security experts to help with things going forward. Nothing is guaranteed. We will do the best we can."
