BioNTech-Pfizer Will Send Supplemental Vaccines to Turkey
BioNTech-Pfizer will send supplemental vaccines to Turkey. An additional 60 million doses of coronavirus vaccine will come to Turkey.
BioNTech-Pfizer will supply Turkey with an additional 60 million doses of vaccine. An agreement was signed with the Turkish Ministry of Health for an additional 60 million doses of
Covid-19 vaccine.
In the statement, it was stated that there was an option for an additional 30 million doses within the scope of the agreement. The deal will increase BioNTech-Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine supply to Turkey up to 120 million doses, all delivered in 2021. In the written statement, BioNTech CEO Uğur Şahin said, "We are grateful that we have made an important contribution to Turkey's vaccination efforts."
Meeting with the press members after the cabinet meeting held on Monday, Health Minister Fahretin Koca said, "BioNTech signed a deal of 30 million in June, and a significant amount in July, August and September."
Minister Koca also stated that the vaccination is planned to cover everyone over the age of 18-20 next month. Explaining that Phase-3 studies in the domestic vaccine will begin in early June, Koca stated that the vaccine may be ready in August-September.
