BIST 100 Closed Monday With A Rise
BIST 100 index closed Monday with rising. BIST 100 index gained 1.82 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day at 1,808.79 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 32.39 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 28.8 billion liras.
While the banking index lost 0.39 percent at the close, the holding index gained 1.79 percent. Among the sector indices, chemistry, petroleum and plastics were the highest earners with 4.27 percent, while the most decline was recorded on tourism with 0.85 percent.
Analysts said that although the concerns about the Omicron variant that emerged in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic continued, optimism came to the fore on the first trading day of the new week.
Stating that the presentations of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will be in the focal point of the markets tomorrow, analysts said that the manufacturing industry Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) in China, consumer confidence index and the inflation in the Eurozone will be monitored closely.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.830 is in a position of resistance and the level of 1.730 stands out as the support for the
BIST 100 index.
