BIST 100 Index Breaks Record at the Closing
BIST 100 index breaks a record at the closing. In
Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index increased by 0.28 percent and closed the day with 1.569.35 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 4.34 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as TL 29.9 billion.
At the closing, the banking index lost 0.87 percent, while the holding index gained 1.18 percent. Among the industry indices, tourism earned the most with 3.46 percent, while sports made the highest decline with 2.33 percent.
The BIST 100 index, which moved with buyers throughout the day, gained 0.28 percent and recorded an all-time closing at 1.569.35 points.
Despite the increase in the number of coronavirus cases and loss of life around the world, the new stimulus package and the start of Biden in the USA have had a relatively positive effect on the markets.
While the inauguration ceremony of Joe Biden, who was elected President of the USA and his speech to be made, is the focus of the agenda, on the other hand, the financial results of companies in the US for the fourth quarter continue to be announced. In addition, the speech of Bank of England Governor Andew Bailey, which will take place tonight, is among the prominent topics.
Analysts stated that data such as the interest rate decision and consumer confidence index, which will be announced at the CBRT Monetary Policy Committee meeting, will form the agenda tomorrow, stated that an intense data agenda will be followed abroad, especially the interest rate decision of the European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the 1.590 level is in the resistance position and the 1.540 level is in the support position for the
BIST 100 index.
