BIST 100 Index Closed Monday With Gains
BIST 100 index closed Monday with gains. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 2,482.60 points with a gain of 0.41 percent.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 10.10 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 43.9 billion TL.
At the closing, the banking index gained 2.86 percent, while the holding index gained 0.68 percent. Among the sector indices, sports with 3.32 percent earned the most, and the most decline was recorded on metal main industry with 1.36 percent.
Analysts stated that despite a negative trend in global markets due to geopolitical risks and concerns that central banks will take more "hawkish" steps in monetary policies than expected, the BIST 100 index diverged positively, led by banking stocks, as BBVA raised the price of its voluntary takeover bid for Garanti.
The BBVA Board of Directors increased the price per share from 12.20 lira to 15 lira in the voluntary takeover offer for Garanti BBVA's shares that are not currently owned by BBVA.
Stating that the data agenda is calm in the domestic market tomorrow, analysts said that the durable goods orders in the USA, the Richmond
Fed industrial index and new housing sales and the unemployment rate in Japan will be monitored closely.
It was stated that the levels of 2.440 and 2.370 are in a position of support, and the level of 2,550 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
