BIST 100 Index Closed The Day With A Decline

BIST 100 index closed the day with a decline. In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 1.24 percent and finished the day with 1.375.91 points.

At the end of the day, BIST 100 index decreased by 17.33 points compared to its previous closing and the total transaction volume was recorded as 16 billion liras. At the closing, the banking index lost 0.98 percent, while the holding index lost 1.56 percent. Among the sector indices, construction was the most profitable with 0.46 percent, while the most decline was recorded on tourism with 6.41 percent. Analysts stated that the pressure on the stock markets continues due to the increasing number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases. It was stated that domestic industrial production data will be followed tomorrow, while the inflation in the USA, foreign trade in China and ZEX Economic Expectation Index in Germany will be monitored abroad. Technically speaking, analysts say that if the BIST 100 index remains below 1.390, 1.340 support may come to the agenda and that the range of 1.400 - 1.440 is in a position of resistance.
