BIST 100 Index Closed the Day with a Decrease

BIST 100 index closed the day with a decrease. BIST 100 index lost 1.26 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day with 1.542.82 points.

At the end of the day, the BIST 100 index decreased by 9.67 points compared to the previous closing, and the total transaction volume was recorded as 40.3 billion liras. At the closing, while the banking index depreciated by 2.38, the holding index fell 0.85 percent. Among the industry indices, textile was the most profitable with 2.14 percent, while the highest loss was recorded on tourism with 2.73 percent. Analysts stated that the developments regarding the financial support package, which is expected to be introduced to the market as part of the fight against coronavirus, continues to remain in the focus of the agenda. Indicating that the data agenda in the country looks stable tomorrow, analysts stated that the intensive data agenda, especially the US Federal Reserve (FED) meeting, industrial production in the USA, retail sales, Producer Price Index (PPI), will be monitored abroad. In technical terms, analysts stated that 1.570 and 1.582 levels are in the resistance position and 1.525 level is in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
