BIST 100 index closed Thursday with a rise. BIST 100 index gained 1.27 percent in Borsa Istanbul and finished the day with 1,431.78 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 17.97 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 16.8 billion liras. At the closingon August 5, the banking index gained 1.64 percent, while the holding index gained 0.72 percent. Among the sector indices, mining was the highest earner with 2.94%, while the highest decline was recorded on sports with 1.34 percent. Analysts stated that mixed signals from macroeconomic data and the delta variant that continued to spread in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic reduced risk appetite on a global basis, and uncertainties regarding monetary policies continued. It was stated that the Treasury cash balance and market participants survey in the country will be followed, while the employment report to be announced in the USA will be closely monitored abroad. In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1.440 stands out as the resistance, and the levels of 1.390 and 1.370 are in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
