BIST 100 Index Continues to Decline
BIST 100 index continues to decline. BIST 100 index lost 1.12% value in Borsa Istanbul and started the day with 1,450.54 points.
At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which lost 16.46 points and 1.12 percent compared to its previous closing, fell to 1.450.54 points.
While the banking index lost 1.03 percent in value at the opening, the holding index lost 1.36 percent. While all sector indices lost value at the opening, tourism declined the most with 2.77 percent.
The BIST 100 index, which lost 4.5 percent yesterday due to the decline in global risk appetite and triggered stop-loss sales, experienced the hardest daily decline since August 6, 2020.
Analysts said, although the
US Federal Reserve (FED) did not change the interest rates and monetary policy in line with the expectations, the markets could not get out of a negative course yesterday evening. Especially in the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, the increase in the number of cases and the loss of life, the problems in the supply of vaccines, the ongoing concerns about the effects of the epidemic on the economy and the fact that announced profitability of some companies fell below the expectations, causing the sellers to increase in the share markets.
Indicating that the first Inflation Report of the year to be announced by the CBRT will be monitored domestically today, analysts stated that the intense data agenda, especially growth in the USA, inflation in Germany and consumer confidence index in the Eurozone, will be closely monitored abroad.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1.430 is an important support for the BIST 100 index.
