BIST 100 Index Ends The Day With A Decline
BIST 100 index ends the day with a decline. In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 2.55 percent and closed the day with 1,330.48 points.
At the end of the day, the
BIST 100 index recorded a 34.79 point decrease compared to its previous closing, and the total transaction volume was recorded as 15.6 billion liras.
At the closing, the banking index lost 1.41 percent, while the holding index fell 3.61 percent. While only increase was recorded on sports with 0.47 percent among the sector indices, the most decline was recorded on financial leasing and factoring with 7.19 percent.
Analysts stated that the stock markets have declined since the beginning of the week, due to the increasing number of cases in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, the US-Russia tension, the chip crisis, the pricing of high volatile commodity prices and economic activity, and said that the decrease in the BIST 100 index gained momentum with the ongoing selling pressure on TL assets.
It was stated that domestic consumer confidence index data will be monitored tomorrow, while the data agenda, especially the European Central Bank (ECB) interest rate decision, will be closely followed abroad.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the levels of 1.300-1.310 stand out as support in the
BIST 100 index, and that a persistence of over 1.400 points will be sought to increase optimism in possible increases.
