BIST 100 Index Started The Day Horizontally

BIST 100 index started the day horizontally. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a horizontal movement, with 1,392.84 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 0.27 points and 0.02 percent compared to the previous close, reached 1,392.84 points. While the banking index lost 0.13 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.05 percent. Among the industry indices, the highest earning was recorded on textile with 0.68 percent, and most decline was recorded on insurance with 1.83 percent. On the first trading day of the week, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul, whose effect increased with the reaction purchases, gained 0.75 percent and closed the day with 1,392.57 points. Analysts stated that the tightening measures due to the increasing number of cases in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic and the increase in the US's 10-year bond rates caused pressure on Turkish lira assets, today the speech of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Director Kristalina Georgieva, inflation in Germany and that the data agenda, especially the consumer confidence index, will be monitored closely. In technical terms, analysts stated that the range of 1.420 and 1.450 will be followed as resistance in the BIST 100 index, while 1.340 points are in the support position.
