BIST 100 Index Started The Day Horizontally

BIST 100 index started the day horizontally. BIST 100 index opened the day at 1,420.94 points with a horizontal motion in Borsa Istanbul.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 0.35 points and 0.02 percent compared to the previous close, reached 1,420.94 points. While the banking index declined by 0.08 percent at the opening, the holding index also lost its value by 0.06 percent. Among the sector indices, sports were the most profitable with 0.84 percent, while the highest decline was recorded on financial leasing and factoring with 4.22 percent. On Tuesday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul fell 1.49 percent as a result of the increasing number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases and the negative impact of tightened measures and closed at 1,420.59 points. Analysts stated that the domestic data agenda seems stable today, while the ongoing Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, the meeting of the US Federal Reserve, the service sector Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) to be announced in Europe and the foreign trade data of the USA will be closely monitored abroad. In technical terms, analysts stated that the range of 1.465 and 1.510 stand out as resistance in the BIST 100 index, and the range of 1.410 and 1.370 is in the support position.
