BIST 100 Index Started The Day With A Decline on September 9

BIST 100 index started the day with a decline on September 9. BIST 100 index lost value by 0.21 percent and started the day with 1,430.88 points.

While the banking index depreciated by 0.38 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 0.41 percent. Among the sector indices, sports with 0.24 percent gained the most, while the most decline was recorded on construction with 0.46 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 1,433.85 points with a 1.44 percent depreciation due to the declining risk appetite in global markets and the rise in the exchange rate. Thus, the index closed at its lowest since August 11. Analysts stated that despite the rise in inflation, the weak labor market and concerns that coronavirus variants would harm the economic recovery led investors to take a cautious position, and uncertainties regarding monetary policies continued. Stating that the focus of the markets is on the decisions that will come out of the European Central Bank (ECB) meeting today, analysts said that the bank is not expected to make any changes in interest rates and monetary policy. It was stated that weekly money and bank statistics in the country and weekly unemployment applications in the USA abroad will be closely monitored. In technical terms, it was stated that the lecel of 1,410 stands out as the support and the level of 1,450 is in a position of resistance for the BIST 100 index.
