BIST 100 Index Started the Day with a Horizontal Movement

BIST 100 index started the day with a horizontal movement. BIST100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with 1.536.07 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul, which decreased by 0.04 points compared to its previous closing, started the day with 1.536.07 points. While the banking index lost 0.49 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.12 percent. At the beginning of the day, financial leasing and factoring became the most profitable among the sector indices with 1.61 percent, while banking was the most declining. The BIST 100 index, which showed a fluctuating movement in the 1.516-1.548 band on Tuesday, showed a decrease of 0.27 percent compared to the previous close and closed the day at 1.536.11 points. Analysts stated that the number of new types of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases worldwide exceeded 100 million, the disruptions in the supply of vaccines, uncertainties regarding the financial stimulus package in the USA and the ongoing concerns regarding the epidemic reflected in the global markets as a mixed course. Reminding that the US Federal Reserve's (FED) decisions and the statements to be made by FED President Jerome Powell and the durable goods orders to be announced in the USA will be monitored, analysts said that the FED is not expected to change interest rates and that the emphasis on inflation and employment can be continued in verbal guidance. Domestic data agenda is stable today. In technical terms, analysts stated that 1.525 and 1.500 levels are in support and 1.555 and 1.570 are in resistance position for the BIST 100 index.
