BIST 100 Index Started the Day with an Increase

BIST 100 index started the day with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.50 percent and opened the day with 1.550.49 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 7.67 points and 0.50 percent compared to the previous close, reached 1.550.49 points. At the opening, the banking index gained 0.70 percent, while the holding index gained 0.29 percent. Among the industry indices, financial leasing was the most profitable with 3.11 percent, while tourism was the most declining with 1.78 percent. The BIST 100 index, which declined to 1.522 levels on Tuesday with the sales pressure from 1.575 levels, partially recovered its losses with reaction purchases from these levels, but closed the day at 1.542.82 points, decreasing by 1.26 percent compared to the previous close. Analysts stated that the global markets are trying to be priced in the possibility that the rise in energy prices may increase inflationary pressures and that there may be interest rates before expectations, therefore volatility has increased. Stating that the financial support package expected to be given as part of the fight against coronavirus in the USA continues to remain in the focus of the markets, analysts stated that the meeting of the US Federal Reserve (FED), which will take place today, will be closely monitored along with the rise in US bond rates. Indicating that the domestic data agenda seems calm today, analysts reminded that the intensive data agenda, especially retail sales and industrial production in the USA, will be monitored abroad. In technical terms, it was stated that 1.570 and 1.582 levels were in the resistance position and 1.525 level is in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
