BIST 100 Index Started the Week With A Rise On October 18

BIST 100 index started the week with a rise on October 18. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.13 percent and started the day with 1,411.38 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which increased by 1.81 points and 0.13 percent compared to the previous close, reached 1,411.38 points. While the banking index depreciated by 0.07 percent at the opening, the holding index recorded a limited increase of 0.02 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 1.05 percent, while the most decline was recorded on real estate investment partnership with 0.25 percent. On Friday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul diverged negatively from the global equity markets, closing the day at 1,409.56 points with a decrease of 0.16%, while gaining 0.83 percent on a weekly basis. Analysts noted that global stock markets started the new week negatively as the third quarter growth data announced in China fell short of expectations, commodity prices that continue to rise and inflationary concerns became the focus of the agenda again. Stating that the company's financial results, which continue to be announced on a global basis, may trigger share and sector divergences, analysts said that today, the housing price index in the country, industrial production and capacity utilization data in the USA, as well as the statements of the US Federal Reserve officials will be monitored closely. In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,396 stands out as the support and the level of 1.420 is in a position of resistance for the BIST 100 index.
