BIST 100 Index Started Thursday With Earnings

BIST 100 index started Thursday with earnings. In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index gained 0.23 percent and opened the day with 1.412.43 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 3.24 points and 0.23 percent compared to its previous closing, reached 1.412.43 points. At the opening, the banking index gained 0.66 percent, while the holding index gained 0.40 percent. Among the indices of the sector, the most profitable was stone with 0.84 percent, while the most decline was recorded on sports with 3.78 percent. BIST 100 index, which gained value rapidly on Wednesday, thanks to the intensified response purchases in bank stocks, finished the day at 1,409.19 points with an increase of 2.24 percent. Analysts stated that the increase in the number of cases in the increasing geopolitical risks, the chip crisis and the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic reduced the risk appetite, however, the decrease in the 10-year bond rates and the decline of the dollar rate to the 4th day supported the domestic stock markets. Analysts, stating that US Federal Reserve (FED) Chairman Jerome Powell's verbal instruction that the reduction of bond purchases will take place long before the policy rate hike supports the risk appetite, today the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Board meeting (MPC) and that possible changes in the text of the decision will be monitored. In technical terms, analysts stated that in the BIST 100 index, 1,440 points are in the resistance position, while the range of 1,390 and 1,360 levels are in the support position.
