BIST 100 Index Started Wednesday With A Rise

BIST 100 index started Wednesday with a rise. In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index gained 0.32 percent and started the day with 1,420.82 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 4.58 points and 0.32 percent compared to its previous closing, started the day with 1,420.82 points. At the opening, the banking index gained 0.27 percent, while the holding index gained 0.31 percent. Among the sector indices, forest, paper and printing were the most profitable with 0.97 percent, while the most decline was recorded on financial leasing and factoring with 4.21 percent. Yesterday, BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 1,416.25 points with a 0.34 percent loss in value. Analysts said that following US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's statements yesterday, the markets followed a mixed course and volatility increased. US Treasury Secretary Yellen said at an event he attended yesterday that interest rates may need to increase slightly to prevent the economy from "overheating" due to government spending. Clarifying the matter a few hours later, Yellen noted that the rate hike was not something she predicted or suggested, and that he did not think the spending packages would be an inflationary problem. Today, it is stated that the intensive data agenda will be followed domestically, including the expectation survey of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), while the service sector Purchasing Managers Index to be announced worldwide and the ADP private sector employment in the USA will be monitored abroad. It was stated that the importance of the speeches to be made by the Central Bank members increased. In technical terms, analysts stated that in the BIST 100 index, the level of 1,440 is in the resistance position, and the levels of 1,390 and 1,340 are in the support position.
