BIST 100 Mid-Day Performance

How was the mid-day performance of the BIST 100 in Borsa Istanbul? How did the stocks perform?

Last week, global stock markets depreciated as the US 10-year bond interest rate increased to 1.60 percent. BIST 100, with the decline recorded last week, returned its gains from the beginning of the year and completed the week with 1,471 points. March started off well after the global risk appetite went low last week. In particular, the approval of the 1.9 trillion incentive package in the US and the approval of the Johnson&Johnson vaccine for emergency use gave hope to the markets. Another development that supported this rise was realized by central banks. The new week started well, with some pullback in 10 years as central banks bought more bonds following the increase in the US bond yield. While Asia and Europe started the session with an increase of over 1 percent, BIST started the week at 1.491 points with an increase of 1.39 percent, and saw the highest 1.505 points during the day. While the index is traded with a premium of more than 2 percent on a daily basis, BIST Banks are traded at 1.375 points with an increase of close to 1.5 percent. BIST Tourism, BIST Metal Products & Machinery and BIST Holding & Investments were among the most rising indices on the first trading day of March, while BIST Leasing and Factoring and BIST Wood, Paper & Printing index increased the most with 5 percent.   The highest rising stocks were as follows: * Konya Çimento Sanayi A.Ş.
