BIST 100 Started Friday With A Decrease

BIST 100 index started Friday with a decrease. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 1,801.30 points with a decrease of 0.99 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which lost 17.92 points and 0.99 percent compared to the previous close, fell to 1,801.30 points. While the banking index depreciated by 1.17 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 1.09 percent. Among the sector indices, forest, paper and printing were the highest earners with 1.88 percent, while the most decline was recorded on transportation with 3.88 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.38 compared to the previous closing, bringing the closing record to 1,819.23 points. Analysts said that after the detection of a new variant of the coronavirus (Covid-19) with a large number of mutations in the Republic of South Africa and Botswana, the flight bans, which came to the agenda again, increased the concerns about the issue, and this situation brought sales pressure in the stock markets. Analysts stated that in addition to the concerns about Covid-19, the high inflation and the strengthening of the expectations that the US Federal Reserve (FED) may end its asset purchases earlier than anticipated and increase the interest rates 2-3 times next year. Analysts stated that today, the statements of international reserves in the country and the European Central Bank officials abroad will be monitored closely. In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.830 is in a position of resistance and the level of 1.760 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
