BIST 100 Started The Day With A Decline
BIST 100 started the day with a decline. In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 5.39 percent and started the day with 1,304.89 points.
At the beginning of the day, the
BIST 100 index, which lost 74.37 points and 5.39 percent compared to the previous close, fell to 1.304.89 points.
At the opening, the banking index lost 7.93 percent, while the holding index lost 6.47 percent. While all sector indices started the day with a depreciation, most decline was recorded on financial leasing and factoring with 8.28 percent.
After the opening, the Index Connected Circuit Breaker System worked in
Borsa Istanbul and the continuous transactions were temporarily suspended until 10:30 am. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul, which ceased twice yesterday, closed the day at 1,379.25 points with a loss of 9.79 percent.
Analysts stated that there was a sharp decline in the domestic stock markets due to the rising exchange rates and panic sales yesterday, and today the BIST 100 index may find balance with the decrease in stop-loss orders and that investors should not trade in panic.
In addition, it was stated that the presentations of US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and US Federal Reserve (FED) Chairman Jerome Powell will be followed today and tomorrow in the House of Representatives and the Senate. On the data agenda, it was stated that the Richmond FED manufacturing industry index came to the fore along with the new housing sales to be announced in the USA.
