BIST 100 Started the New Week with an Increase

BIST 100 started the new week with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul showed an increase of 0.78 percent and started the week with 1,484.95 points.

At the opening of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 11.50 points and 0.78 percent compared to its previous closing, reached 1,484.95 points. While the banking index gained 0.88 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.95 percent. At the beginning of the day, all sector indices gained value, sports gained the most with 3.59 percent. Last week, in Borsa Istanbul, which moved with sellers in parallel with the world stock markets, the BIST 100 index decreased by 1.66 percent on Friday and 4.47 percent on a weekly basis and fell to 1.473.45 points. Analysts stated that CBRT Governor Naci Ağbal's emphasis on combating inflation and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) raising the growth expectation of Turkey’s economy to 6 percent for 2021 was a positive development for TL assets, and reported that this is a positive development for the withdrawal seen in the stock markets. Stating that the manufacturing industry Purchasing Managers Index data to be announced worldwide will be monitored today, analysts emphasized that the developments regarding the incentive package and the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in the USA will also be at the center of the agenda. On the other hand, it was stated that the domestic data agenda is stable today. On the technical side, analysts stated that the level of 1.430 was in the important support position in the BIST 100 index and that 1.525 points were in the resistance position.
