BIST 100 Started The Week With A Record
BIST 100 index started the week with a record. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week at 2.056.01 points with an increase of 1.01 percent.
At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 20.53 points and 1.01 percent compared to the previous close, reached an all-time high with 2,056.01 points.
While the banking index gained 0.27 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.99 percent. Among the sector indices, chemistry, petroleum and plastics were the highest earners with 1.97 percent, while the most decline was recorded on sports with 1.21 percent.
On Friday, the BIST 100 index in
Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.20 percent, closing a record with 2,035.48 points. The index gained 6.55 percent on a weekly basis, carrying its rise for the 9th week in a row.
Analysts said that this week, investors will focus on the interest rate decisions of the European Central Bank, the Bank of Japan, the Bank of England and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, as well as the US Federal Reserve, and said that verbal guidance by policy makers will be critical in shaping expectations and pricing.
Although the uncertainties created by the Omicron variant, which emerged in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, made pricing difficult, it was noted that global stock markets started the week positively with optimism about the effect of vaccines.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 2.070 is in a position of resistance and the level of 1.970 stands out as the support for the
BIST 100 index.
